All courses are based at Astar Studios. Astar, based near Manchester, is owned by Mercury Prize nominated producer Andy Ross and has ranked among Europe’s top 4 recording studios for two consecutive years at the Pro Sound Awards.

The control room features a 64 Channel Tascam DM-4800 desk, Dynaudio AIR 15 and BM6A MkII monitors, outboard Neve Pre-amps for pristine vocals and Mac Pro Quad-Core processing has been designed to provide the perfect recording and listening environment.

Its large live room is fully controllable and versatile, allowing both open and dry sounds to be achieved according to session requirements. Decribed by many as the best sounding live room in the country, musicians including legendary drummer Steve White (Paul Weller, Oasis, The Who), Neil Fairclough (Queen), Simon Moore (Ian Brown) and Damon Minchella (Ocean Colour Scene) have recorded at Astar.

It houses the perfect environment for students to learn from highly qualified industry professionals.
